What does a math session look like? This will depend on your child's needs and age/ grade. I will collaborate with your child's teacher to further practice skills that are being worked on at school and address any gaps or target areas. In math sessions, students often choose to bring homework or unfinished classwork to receive additional help with. Students will also receive direct instruction of identified skills in a way that best suits their learning profile, whether that be through the use of learning manipulatives, note-taking, written practice, online practice, etc.
-
What does a reading session look like? This will depend on your child's needs and your child's age/ grade. Reading sessions follow the Orton-Gillingham framework and scope. Although no two sessions will look exactly alike, a general overview is as follows: -Cursive/ Phonological awareness (5-10 min) -Visual/ Auditory Drill (5-10 min) -Decoding strategies (10-15 min) -Spelling (10 min) -Fluency/ Comprehension (10-15 min) -Writing skills (10 min)

What does a writing session look like? This will depend on your child's needs and age/ grade. Writing sessions follow the scope and sequence of The Writing Revolution, which provides students with a clear structure for sentences and paragraphs. Students are also able to bring assignments or essays from school for support.
